Thermography
A thermographic camera can acquire the image of a scene in the mid IR range.

* The measured quantity is the luminous flux in the spectral band at which the sensor is sensitive. We can transform this measure in temperature by certain assumptions about the emissivity of the scene.
In general, it is preferable to measure flux variations.
