3D scanning of objects of art
|
An active lighting using fringe projection provides a dense 3D point cloud, representing the surface of the part.
Some characteristics of the scanning process:
- Scanned surface
- Point density: up to 4 million from mm² to m² point in a frame
- Duration of acquisition: 5 to 15 seconds
From the point cloud, many applications are possible:
- measurement of dimensional deviations from a CAD file
- identification of a part type · control of compliance (presence accessories, inserts, ...)
- direct machining using the point cloud
- surface reconstruction and reverse engineering
- dimensional control
Surface reconstruction is to calculate CAD surface-type (Beziers, NURBS) based on the scanned point cloud. This provides a CAD file (IGES) of a part or an object that has not been defined initially using a CAD tool.
