Displaying a CAD model
|
The device is suitable for displaying very large 3D digital models (buses, factories, trains, etc...) realistically and interactively.
Models can be displayed at actual size which means a good representation of the finished product, reducing the number of physical models required when producing a project.
The design of a part, a mechanism or installation can benefit from the use of virtual reality in a variety of ways :
- Virtual prototyping of a product lets you test its operation and validate the computer programmes linked with it.
- The ergonomics of a product or installation can be effectively analyzed with a view to validation (accessibility of controls, comfort, visibility constraints, etc...)
- Analysis of the geometry of a product is made easier : the space it occupies, the assembly/dismantling of a part can be studied with a view to designing maintenance procedures, even to validate or question the design of the rpoduct itself.
- With immersion improving visual perception, a product's designer will have an effective tool for evaluating the aesthetic quality of his/her work.
- Displaying physical phenomena can be useful for making exchanges easier between simulation experts and designers.
