Scientific display of molecules
The device can be used as an immersive display system to meet research needs in the field of Virtual and Augmented Reality.
Three types of research have been identified :
Scientific data - principally in physics and biology - resulting from experiments or digital simulations forms a large mass of data which is difficult to analyse. The virtual reality device offers users the option of intervening in real time in the evolution of phenomena being studies.
- Virtual and augmented reality applications :
Navigation through the vessels of the human body (LSIIT)
The device can be used to implement specific applications taking advantage of the system's capabilities, for example in the field medical research and studies concerning the treatment of cognitive and behavioural problems.
- Research into immersive technology itself :
Interaction in an immersive environment is not trivial and gives rise to new problems. Studies in the field of 3D interaction seek to resolve these problems with the goal of improving the ergonomics of immersive applications.
