Green Testing

Penetrant testing and magnetic non-destructive methods are widely used in industry for the detection of surface defects. But these techniques have a significant impact on the health of operators and the environment (magnetic field, VOC emissions, waste...).

HOLO3 is engaged in a project named Grenn Testing, supported by the European Community, in cooperation with CETIM and IXTREM.

This project aims to better take into account operator safety and environmental impact in the practice  non destructive techniques.

If you are concerned with these issues or interested in alternative and "greener" methods of control, we propose to answer in a few minutes in our online questionnaire.

We also draw your attention to the technical seminar hel Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in Chalons sur Saône (France) on "Penetrant Magnetic non destructive testing technique and bleeding : current practices and future." We hope to see you here.

Thank you for your contribution and your trust.

Research programs in progress

ECO-CND :

Objective :
  • Replace the penetrant and magnetic testing technique
  • Optimize the TOFD (to replace the RX and Grammapraphy) : addition of functions, detection of surface defects by Rayleigh waves and Lamb waves.
Partners :

GREEN TESTING :

Objective : Implement alternatives to techniques to penetrant and magnetic testing technique :
  • Passive & active (laser) thermography - US power - Electromagnetic induction
  • High frequency acoustic resonance
