Measurement on reflection surfaces

The principe consists in analyzing the image of a grid by reflection on the surface to be inspected.

The grid is deformed by the surface relief.

This deformation is analysed to supply at all points the vector normal to the surface as well as the X, Y, Z coodinates of the surface.

The equipment consists of a structure, one or several projectors and one or several cameras. A patented calibration procedure is used to define a space volume in which the measurements can be made.

The measurement uncertainty is ± 0.1 mm for a 2m² surface area.

The process is also a way of accessing surface curvature defects (corrugations, making, etc...) thanks to the high density of the measured points (up to 1 million points).
